November 8 : Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar termed the unanimous approval of the bill to issue driving license to the hearing impaired persons in Sindh Assembly , a historic moment, adding that hearing impaired persons had been waiting for this moment for years and this moment will be written in golden words in the history of Pakistan. Sindh is the first province to take this step to issue driving license to those with hearing impairments. Talking to media representatives in the Assembly, he said that passing the bill would bring about a positive change in the lives of those who faced hearing impairment. The passing of the bill involves the special interest of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, which made it possible. He said that party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had directed that every effort should be made to make the life of special persons easier and the unanimous passing of the members of the Sindh Assembly to issue driving license to hearing impaired persons was the result of his efforts. Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar also praised the role of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities's officers and Sindh Assembly members in the preparation of the bill. Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar added, 'The Sindh government is keenly interested in the rehabilitation work of special people and these initiatives include issuing special ID cards, disability certificates, construction of ramps and special washrooms for special people in buildings. Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar said that the five percent job quota for differently abled people in public and private institutions was also being implemented in letter and spirit.
